14 months, taken from the lives of some young guys & girls, are the time span of this novel. City is its background. The revolving smell of a flower, lost among the high riser, mastic asphalt, shopping mall & traffic at its height; A friend’s hand; Notes of a flutist; & uncountable daily life people are its search.
A young software engineer REEP; Maudlin, sensitive, touchy MOUNIKA; Athlete PUSHPAL; Highly ambitious RAI; Down-hearted, dejected PULU; Unable to set for abroad- SHAKYA; Servicing in a software farm- TITHI; Caretaker of Mukherjee-Bari- BATU;--are at the center of this novel. In spite if being different, somehow, as if they are alike. As if they are tied somewhere, all are helpless. Gradually the wind of change comes. Their lives start to change with the change of the seasons. One’s survival is hugged by & mixed with another’s living. TITHI wants to pervade into REEP’s loneliness. PUSHPAL’s run enters into his life also, crossing the lines of the running tracks. Though for a little while, aeroplanes console BATU & make him forgotten about his poverty. An old poem suddenly goes on in the cell phone of MOUNIKA in the midnight. PULU watches the deep emptiness in the relationship of his parents.
Even after crossing all these hurdles, everybody wants to restore themselves in their own way. Everybody feels an unknown force in their inner selves--- feels a “PALTA HAWA”
